Hazing
hi ive already introduced myself but names don from hawaii
well my story in a nutshell
i just recently bought an 06 berlina on 10/04/06
when i bought it , it had a few light swirls and a scratch by the honda emblem. the
salesmen said he couldnt do anything about. so i drove it off the lot , happy ,
very happy. after detailed i touched up some spots but took it on many drives as
it was a irrisitable machine. ive always used any products what was cheapest on
my other cars but now i seem to stick with magaurs i believe. anyway it was a
liquid wax. i saw hazing and came across kcthefish post "Don't Mix Your Wax:
Carnauba and synthetic waxes don't mix well. If you've used a lower quality grade
wax, strip it off using our Paint Prep before using our carnauba wax. Otherwise the
wax won't adhere well or you'll notice hazing and smearing. "
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...c=432141&st=25
i noticed hazing... i thought it was just the wax since this was one my first times
using expensive non turtle wax haha
now am i the idiot for jumping on the whole wash and wax idea , seems like my impatients and love of the car brought me to where i am.
sorry for the long post but can someone chime in?

no ones can claim the idiot badge when it comes to wanting the best for your car. You've not hurt anything so just take a step back and re-evaluate the situation. Figure our what you want to do. It's not that hard to get back to clean paint so I think you might want to lookat that as your baseline and then add whatever protectant your want based on your research.
There are tons of opions out there and I'm sure you'll find one to try. My personal suggestion is to do your research first then proceed from there.
My favorite 3 sites are listed below in terms of access to dependable info.

don- if i had a car that had any dullness to the paint i would use a paint cleaner or a swirl remover (could even be a glaze) with a porter cable... haze can be caused by several things- and a paint cleaner will get them all.
for your black car this might be a good solution:

(yup, thats my car in the photo... and i promise, i dont get paid for this!)
paint cleaners and swirl removers are the lightest level of polish there is. after you polish the car, a high quality protectant is your best bet for maintaining the shine- if you want to go carnuba, my first choice is p21s for its ease of use, incredible shine and durability.
if you are ready for a synthetic, you could do finish first (the easiest), klasse or zaino (these would be my first choices).
have zaino on my s, topped with p21s- and finish first topped with p21s on my bimmer. on the van i usually just have the p21s- but now have a base of finish first. on the other two cars, am going p21s alone also.

how many uses does the P21s get on an S?
p21s makes several products- i was talking about the carnuba. if you mean how many coats, there is no limit. the only limit is that each needs cure time, like any other product.
max bene from a carnuba is usually about 2 coats... but i have lots on mine- cause it is so easy to apply that i often put it on after i wash the car.
