Default Help, Leather on Door Panel

I was cleaning my car today and used Blue Magic Leather Cream Conditioner. Seemed to work ok on the seats but the leather on the door panel appears wrinkled several hours afterward. This is the soft perforated trim above the arm rest.

What do you recommend for this area?

Hopefully this will be a product I can find locally tomorrow (Sunday).

Thanks.

Lexol leather conditioner is a favorite. Maybe you should consider their leather cleaner as well to remove whatever in on the panel. I have no idea why it would be wrinkled. I've used the Lexol leather products for years with good results. They're available in many auto supply and tack shops. Very popular for saddles and tack shops often have larger bottles that are much cheaper than buying at auto supply shops.

I personally use a product called tanner's presrve but it is vary hard to find. Personally, I am not fond of Lexol. It is not that lexol is bad or that I had bad results, it's just that I have used better products. A couple of Autopians use turtle wax cleaner and conditioner on perforated leather (like ours) and swear by it. I will try this after my tanner's prserve runs out. Zaino makes a great leather conditioner. I have used the zaino and really like it although it is a bit pricey.

I will be checking the stores later today when they open... the effects of the blue magic product on this section is horrible. The leather looks like a prune. Hopefully this can be reversed.

I will post pictures.

For the archives....

I applied Meguire's two step leather cleaning/conditioning to the leather that was wrinkling. I repeated 2 days in a row and after a few days the signs of leather wrinking are almost completely gone.

If anyone wants a bottle of Blue Magic "Leather Cream Conditioner", they can pull it from my trash can. (Trash day is Wednesday)

wow that's kind of scary... I didn't know certain cheap leather "conditioners" can cause damage like that!

I personally use Leatherique with good results (www.leatherique.com)... most people use it to restore leather, but you can use it on newer leather as well. Our interiors here in AZ take a pretty good beating from the sun.

Yes, you can do damage to the leather by applying a bad product. I used the Meguires only because I wanted to apply a moisturizer fast.

I have products on order from the leather instute. I suspect these are the same as townsend but not sure. I was confused, and still am, by all the product choices.
