Default Help removing an odd stain

Hi all!

Was hoping for some advice on removing something stuck on my car. I recently noticed some sort of tar-like stringy substance along the lower half of the right fender and door. I was able to wash that off easily but found a few long blueish lines that just will not come off. I have no idea what it might be! Tar stain?

I've tried both the mild consumer clay and then the mild professional, but no luck. I also rubbed the area fairly vigorously with ScratchX, and while it faded the mark very slightly, it didn't remove it. What are some other products I might try? I'm slightly torn as I don't really want to compromise the paint by using something harsh. Not sure how thick the clear is that low down on the door.

Also, is that textured part actually plastic, or just bumpy paint?

Thanks!

you might have to go heavier polish,
but i would try a paint cleaner next. gonna have to really work it hard- up/down - and side/side

Thanks guys!

For removing paint blemishes, I also have Autoglym Tar Remover. Do you think that might do the trick, or would it damage the clear? Anyone have any experience with it?

Try the Autoglym 1st. If not, get some adhesive remover like the 3M stuff Detailers Domain sells.

The autoglym will be ok for your car.
