help with wheel cleaner

Default help with wheel cleaner

i used some wheel cleaner and didnt get it all off. and there are brown stained lines from the cleaner that dryed on the wheels, probably like 4 on 2 wheels coming down from the lug nuts. ive tryed clay bar, wd40 and washing/waxing them. how can i get this off ?

Hi Chrts, you may have to polish those brown lines out with a non abrasive metal polish such as Blue Magic found at Walmart or a mild car polish that has some abrasives in it such as Scratch Out or Meguiars ScratchX. Try some Plexus to see if it works first before buying a polish. Don't wax the wheels until the brown lines are removed. You may have to wash the wheels down first with a dish washing detergent to remove the wax you put on before trying to polish.

Not sure if this applies to you but never use wheel cleaner on a hot/warm wheel

I have that crap on my wheels too. I've heard of using a dremel tool, but it's bad because it will take the clear coat off of the wheels.

If you're desparate, then use a dremel, and get a can of wheel clear coat at Auto Zone.
