How do I keep my headlights looking new?
Hi guys.
Just got my car back from a collision repair that brought me brand new headlights on my five year old Civic.
After five years, my Civic, which is daily driven and not garaged, the headlights were showing age. I have done battle with them for a year now, using Meguiars Plastx and Plexus to keep the majority of the coloration and fogginess gone.
But now, the headlights are perfect...and I want to keep them that way.
Any suggestions on how to protect them? Obviously, its cheap plastic so it will be tough, but I at least want to try...
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would think that waxing them when you wax your car will help to extend their life. I remember reading that headlights come with a protectant already applied, which eventually wears off; but I'm not sure if this is true or not. Anyway, whenever I wax my car, I always apply the wax/sealant to the headlights, too. Once a year I polish the headlights with PlastX and then wax them along with the rest of the car. So far they are holding up well.

if you go to your auto zone they have something called headlight clearer or something along those lines. so you put some on your headlight and rub it like crazy and wash it off. then its super clear. no yellow or anything
Thanks for the suggestions guys.
I will definitely be trying these out.
Anything else?
I am truly determined to keep them new. The accident, which was caused by a teenager, only damaged one of the headlights. I decided to pay just over $200 for the other headlight to be replaced as well so that they would both be in the same condition. Yeah, I am that anal about my cars...

toothpaste works too
apply on a cloth and rub in small circular motions for awhile, use a clean cloth damp with water to wipe off all the toothpaste and then a dry cloth to dry it.
did it on my 1990 prelude and the headlights look new
