Default How do you clean and protect your convertible top?

Take a look at this how-to video for Raggtopp cleaner and protectant:

Raggtopp Video

Is this how you use the Raggtopp products? What do you do different?

now thats a good commercial!!

hey, i just use car shampoo and a brush on my top- and i dont let the water sit on the car or top that long. seems to me that this is "how to clean a really dirty top"... not just a normal cleaning.

and i never use the sun to dry my car!!

btw, this video is for fabric tops (edit- they do cover vinyl later on)... and i mask the entire car, when doing fabric tops, with old sheets. he is spraying all over his paint. i do let the vinyl top sprays cure in the sun like he did, but only after the car is dry.

I never cleaned my top that thoroughly... Hmmm very cool! I don't think I really need to. I always thought regular wash and car soap worked fine.

I use regular car soap and a brush to clean the top, dry it with some mf towels, and use a pad to apply the protectant. I've only done this once since owning the car and the top was significantly darker after using this product.

Well, that's not the way I do it. Seems like you'd mostly make a mess spraying it directly onto the top that way. I spray it onto an applicator pad, and put it on that way.

And I'm with EOE - I've never cleaned mine quite that thoroughly. My car spends most of its life in the garage though, so it doesn't really get all that dirty.

I did mine today and used an applicator as well. They are trying to get you to use more product and in turn buy more product by doing it the way the video shows.

My protectant didn't come in the aerosol form ... both my cleaner and protectant came in the spritz version ... which I did have aerosol version though ... I think I'd be putting too much protectant on with my bottle.
