Default How to get in tight spaces in engine bay?

Hey all, I went through a few pages here and didn't see a thread like this. I clean my engine bay frequently, and I always find it really hard to get into some spaces that get dirt build up. For an example, the main fuse box right beside the battery. It has those little fin like things around it, and I have tried a few different things to try and get into those little spaces, but I can't seem to do a very good job.

So my main question is, how do some of you guys get into those really tight spaces like the main fuse box cover to get it all clean?

Thanks!

These work very well in true tight spots and the handles are bendable to reach around engine bay obstacles.

Or if you wish to do the same thing less expensively, a medical supply store sells 8" and 16" cotton swabs that work very well. And they are around $7 for one hundred swabs.

I find that once I remove some parts around it becomes easier to actually get my hands into previously tight spots. Lots of the cables and brackets are easily removed and replaced.

Cool. I remember one of my friends got his engine bay steam cleaned and it looks great.

Stupid question, but is there anything I should look out for if I steam clean it? (i.e. don't get around the alternator, ect..)

I use cheapo chip brushes from HD or Lowes and a healthy dose of P21S, let is soak and agitate the tough areas then rinse. Comes out very clean. Then I dress with Chemical Guys Extreme Shine applied to rag for the finished look.
