Default How long does it take you to do a full detail?

Did a search and didn't find this topic out there surprisingly! So how long does it take you to do a full detail on your S?

Leaving the definition of "full detail" open to interpretation, please post a brief description of your steps and how long it takes you. Link a thread if you've got one

It takes me about 12 hours, spread over two days. I have no idea how you guys do it in 6-7 hours. I do clean the wheels and dress the tires and wheel wells, but that doesn't add that much time to the process. But I am 60 years old and don't have the stamina you young guys have. I also have a weak back, which gets stressed by the machine polishing.

12-15 hrs. Depending on the car. I also clean the underside periodically, a car can never be too clean or shiny.

6-7 hours

Wash body/wheels/wells, wipe jambs, dry
Clay
Tape
Compound
Wax/Sealant

I worked in sweat shop detailing for a few years and speed was always priority. but a quality job will take at least 6 hrs IMO

I agree machine polishing is murder on my back, I have spread it over two days too. I got great results though , so hopefully this isn't something I'll have to do for a while. I think I can go several years without having to polish it again and just keep it clayed and sealed from this point onwards.

My ignorance is showing here, but what do people mean when they say "tape off?"

As of right now, I don't have a garage or a water spigot (apartment), so all my detailing is minimal.

Wash
Dry
Clay
Wax

About 1.5-2 hours
