How long till it starts to rust?
I have a few very small rock chips on my driver's side fender, I searched the forum and found a few links on taking care of them (ie "pencil" sand, clean, touch-up paint etc..), but I really don't want to do that if it's going to be a lot of trouble taking care of them. I'm just curious if I don't care for those rock chip areas on the fender, how long would it take for them to rust?? (if anyone has experienced this)...
depends on a number of things...
are you down to the metal?
how often is the car wet?
how often you wax the car?
... in any case i dont see why you wouldnt give touch up a try.
maybe check out langka. doesnt have to be a difficult process-
at least remove the wax, and put some touchup paint in the chips to protect the car- if you take your time you can do a decent job without sanding.
and worst case, if you dont like the job you did- you can either spend more time with the sanding or take it to the shop!

Thanks for the reply. I don't think it's down to the metal or maybe it is?? (color is Sebring Silver and the rock chip areas on the fender are gray (possibly primer coat layer??)), and I drive it sometimes in the rain if I have to. I wax the car every 3 months, and usually wash it once every two weeks. I have no problem touching it up, if it resorts to that I will most definately do it, but I also want to make sure it doesn't rust anytime soon. I haven't tryed langka yet, if it's good I will give it a shot, but have you used it before Wanabe??
