Default How to wash the car in an apt complex ?

I'm moving to an apartment complex with no car wash areas nor hose connectors on the side of the buildings. Is anyone in a similar situation? How do you guys wash your cars? I was pretty happy about my new abode ready to put down a deposit when the leasing lady said there are no car wash areas and no hose connectors. But she said that I could run a hose from the kitchen sink out to the front of the buliding and wash the car that way.

Is there anything I have to buy to have this setup or can I simply screw on the hose to the faucet and just turn on the water? I have a nozzle on the other end so even if the water is "on" at the sink, I wouldn't be wasting water if I don't squeeze the nozzle. Am I correct or will this bust the pipes and/or hose due to pressure? I'm assuming the pressure would stop the water flow. I'm just hoping it won't cause a mess in the kitchen since the seal between the hose and the source usually isn't sealed perfectly.

Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Simple Answer .... QEW

How to use QEW

I just selected one linkfrom Autopia but there are quite a few posts ... just search if you don't get enough info from this one. QEW is used by a lot of Autopia members, and quite a few professional detailers use it also.

If you live in the city, there are self car washes where you can rent a hose.

Take your own bucket and sponge/mitt down to the coin operated wash and do it that way. Most of the better ones have the "spotless" water option. Just don't use their brushes since they have lots of rocks and grease in them. I used to do that all the time and as long as you are fast and don't take up the stall for too long people don't mind. Try to find one with a shaded drying area though.

I have the same problem living in an apartment complex. I drive to the self car wash, then drive home to do all the detailing.
