Default I give up!!

I have officially given up on even trying to maintain my rear window (or my top for that matter). It seems like no matter what I try to do either nothing happens or it makes things worse. I have spent god knows how much money trying every stinkin product out there to try and clean the back window and nothing. I also tried applying some cleaner/protector to the top. The top doesn't look any better than before. In fact, now it is completely covered with little white specks from my supposed "link free" cloth (that are going to be next to impossible to get off). I guess my only hope it to try and just dowse the thing in something that will just make it look darker and hopefully hide all my attempts at making it look nice. It's ironic. If I hadn't done any thing then the damn thing would look just fine and I wouldn't be out all that money and all that time. Screw it. From now on, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Sorry, just had to vent.....

Can't help you with the rear window, but regarding the lint on the top...give a leaf blower a shot, it may just blow it off the top for you.

How about a vacuum with a brush attachment on the hose?

Jeez, I wonder if it's some combination of your cleaning products that hosed you up, baldy74???. I've been considering seeking out 303 (I think it's 3M product), but I supposed you've already tried it??? Have you tried a Dawn wash, just to get the stuff off?

Post if / when you get it back into shape. Wishing you well.

I assume you've tried just washing the top along with the rest of the car, then rinsing the whole thing with copious amounts of water? Once dry, spray a cloth (I use an old sock) with the protectant and wipe the top with it rather than spraying the top directly. Let it air dry on its own before putting it down.
The rear window, I've used a plastic polish and then maintain with Plexus. I've just recently done the static cling tint to keep it from scratching. My car is almost 2 years old. The top and the rear window are almost like new. (And I'm far from being anal about car care.)
