Well, first I went to one of those self serve power washer car wash places, but only to clean the wheels. P21S wheel cleaner gel is magical stuff. Once I was done there, I went to the grocery store and bought four gallons of distilled water. Took them home, made up a batch of Ultima rinseless car wash suds, and washed the car. I spoke briefly to a friend of mine, who told me that I'd probably lost my mind if I was using store bought distilled water to wash my car - in the cold and wind.
The Ultima stuff, by the way, works really well. I'm very happy with it. Wouldn't use it on a car with caked on dirt and stuff like that, but for a freshening, it works exactly as advertised.
Actually for those of you washing in colder climates, something I started doing a couple years ago was filling my wash bucket indoors, with warm water. Makes a big difference and turns the job back into something enjoyable.
