Default I'll admit it

I just spent 3 hours on a car that is trashed. It's been re-painted in many different stages because of accidents. Clear coat etching, clear coating peeling, deep scratches, rotary swirls... you name it. Green wool on my rotary with Optimum Compound hazed the paint like crazy but barely made a dent in the mess. I tried Yellow wool and a 6" black wool in a few places. The yellow started to draw black on the pad. So I got out a blue pad and shined up what i could. Then I used the Cyclo with orange pad and menzerrna to at least shine it up.

Time for a re-paint.

i bet it still looks a lot better-
have been there before. hours and hours and then i was not happy... the owner was though, and i guess thats what matters-
when the paint is gone or so badly messed up- theres nothing that we can really do other than sand an paint... and thats not a project that interests me!

I didn't take any pics. I knew this wasn't going to be one to brag about. Anyway, the owner shows up, my sis-in law, and she's tickled pink. Says it looks like a new car. I guess it's all relative.

Man I had that happen to me once. I did a Corrola once (it was TRASHED) and I spent hours and hours on it and finally I just had to do what I could and finish as I could have spent a week on it and still not been happy.

You win some you lose some... at least they were happy

sounds like you made the right decision... just clean it up a bit and toss something shiny on top...

Next time i'm buying baby oil, rub it all over the car and call it a day. It'll look wet until it rains or evaporates off.
