Latest Reviews, and the Buddy System
ok guys so i haven't posted in a little bit and thought i'd give the latest with reviews of some of the new things i've tried out so give the rest of the community some ideas of different products out there.
Collinite 476S Wax: $15.99 for a 9 oz tub paste wax, applied to my sisters black 2003 honda civic LX
This stuff is a hybrid wax if you will. it has carnauba for shine, but also has synthetic elements to give it durability. i purchased this stuff because i've been looking for something with crazy durability for the coming winter months here in Detroit. after looking around for awhile, it seems like this was a good product to try based on reviews from other detailers, and the price. It's not the easiest on nor off, but that's not as important because i bought it for durability solely. the end shine does look quite nice, though not as great of Lusso Oro (which is expected). the most amazing thing about it so far is the amazing slickness. at least twice as slick once buffed off as Lusso. due to the slick nature, this stuff is known for its beading, which i can say is CRAZY. the true test will be how long it actually holds up. i'm hoping to get at least 6 months out of it, and with my sister's brutal nature in how she treats her car, it'll be a real great way to evaluate the wax's durability (car's kept outside, hardly washed, not treated very kinda in any way).
Cobra Guzzler Waffle Weave Towel: $15.99 for 2 as used on a 2006 Chevy Malibu after a quick wash
I bought these at the same time as the collinite. i really was looking for collinite, but because i was going to pay for shipping no matter how little i ordered, i figured i should pick up a couple extra items to make it all worth it. these guzzler drying towels were buy one get one free, and i've been looking for a high class alternative to using my absorber (which i love, but don't want to use on a car unless it's completely perfectly clean). these two towels were only around 16x16 each, but i was able to wipe down the entire car with them WITHOUT using water sheeting prior to drying. these towels were also very very soft, and have remained soft after their initial wash with microfiber detergent. so far a great buy, as other waffle weaves i've used were not very absorbant.
Lake Country 4'' Orange Pads - Flat: $3.99 for two
another buy one get one free, i just used these to help restore the headlights on a 2002 Toyota Matrix that my aunt owns. those pics are on a different camera and will be up within a week or so. the results were great.
here are some pics of my car from a week or two ago. This is prior to washing my car, when i just gave it the initial wet-down. It hasn't been waxed in about 3 or 4 weeks, and shows the results of Lusso Oro after 10-15 days. i think the beading speaks for itself

in addition i recently went down to Illinois and prior to the 700mile + trip, i taped up my lady with the help of a friend.

and of course my lovely assistant Jessica:

last but certainly not least, of course i've been talking with The Twanksta for quite some time as we're both getting into all this detailing quite a bit. it's always nice to try out new products, but many times can be a gamble because of costs. we decided we'd help each other out a little so we can try before we buy some things.
while out today i was on the phone with him, and bought a few 2oz bottles to fill up so he can give them a shot.
JetSeal109
Menzerna PowerGloss
CG Grime Reaper (which has to be diluted)
CG Bare Bones
a slice of Collinite 476

enjoy! any questions are welcome, and i plan on giving everyone an update on the collinite durability (though it won't shine like others, it might be great for daily driven cars, as well as a nice winter prep for many)
