Default Leather conditioner for steering wheel

Can anyone recommend a leather conditioner that will treat my leather steering wheel.

I want to make the wheel feel a little "grippy". Lexol didn't work that well for me.

Thanks !

I'm still in search of the perfect "matte finish" conditioner. The Vital is some nice stuff, but to me doesn't leave the finish truly "matte". I've read some great things about Leatherique. I guess they're one of the only conditioners, where the conditioner is applied first and let to sit for a very long time. Then you follow it up with their cleaner.

IIRC the cleaner matters as well. Which one are you using?

Zymol works great IMO, on all the interior leather parts. One of the things I try to do on the steering wheel in particular is to buff out the excess with a clean microfiber maybe 10-15 min after the leather's soaked up its fill. That should get you to that grippy feel.

I use Meguiars leather cleaner and conditioner. I choose not to buff the finish to prevent any more shine than is natural. Steering feels good in the hands after that although the grippier texture fades after some time.

To get a more grippier leather feel it is mostly the cleaning that is going to help, not the conditioning. Oils from you hands will polish the wheel over time. I used spray nine cleaner and a microfiber cloth on my leather wheels and I was able to get them back to that more grippy feel by removing dirt and oils from the surface. I know some people use a Mr. Clean scrub foam pad with good results but it can be more abrasive than my method.

Best method I used to clean the wheel and my seats of that shine was Meguiars heavy duty spray on cleaner. That stuff literally stripped the shine away! Then I used the leather conditioner. You're right though. Over time the leather absorbs moisture from your hands...
