Making your ragtop blacker?
I would stick to the 303, despite it's temporary lustre. Our top is is not a canvas top, and as such you should be weary of dyes and other permanent materials which may block pores and decrease "breathability".

303 or vinylex... they both should prevent further damage as they actually contain sunblocks.
spray them on your applicator away from the car then wipe on- dont spray directly onto the top.
a car cover will help too. i use the honda cover- its great for sun protection, but not for wet protection.

Since our top is vinyl, it actually doesn't breathe at all, that actually comes from the shoe-leather industry where the heat and water needs to be able to breathe out and air in to keep your feet from overheating...in any case I used 303 for the first time the other day, worked well on my top. Also says it can be used on leather, I wouldn't put it near mine though, nothing that is meant for vinyl should be used on leather. Has a silicone type feel to it, probably not good for the finish on the surface of the leather.
