Default Meguaiars G110

I've been doing some research and came across this DA Polisher. Checked it out on youtube and its got nothing but good reviews. I need something that is newbie friendly so I figure this fits the bill. I can practice on my cavalier before moving on to the S2k.

This is a package deal going on ebay...

Good deal or not? Like I said this will be my first polisher so I need self explanatory products and easy operation for the main selling points. The biggest flaw with my spa yellow s2000 is swirl marks.

imo the way that you tell a good machine is how long it lasts. they all do pretty much the same stuff. this one is too new for us to know its lifespan.
that said, i am mainly replying to bump this up cause i have never used the g110.

(i am still an old fashioned porter cable guy)

I had done a lot of research because I was (as of last week) in the market for a new DA Polisher. I actually looked at that same package you posted. In my research I found that there is a newer version called the G110 V2 which is supposed to be a little bit more powerful. I think you should check out the deals that our local sponsor has at detailersdomain. Phil has a detail package with the new Porter Cable XP and I think that would be better then the G110 for sure. I ended up going with the Flex XC but it was a hard decision. Good luck!

Yeah, I thought I read somewhere that there was a newer version of this one out but couldn't find the package deal with the v2.

Il check out the porter cable package deal on detailer domain, It appears you can not go wrong with the porter cable its just a little more expensive than this DA, but usually the saying you pay for what you get is truthful. Il just have to learn how to detail proficiently so I can charge my family for detail jobs to make my money back.

Ok, just checked out detailers domain, and they deffinitely have good products at competitive prices. That being said I have decided to go with the Porter Cable 7424 and Uber pad kit.

However, I have not decided which combo to get down to 2 choices

A. The kit with the Einszett Polish and Wax
B. The Kit with the 105 and 205 Meguiars

The kit with the Einszett Polish and Wax seems to be the best value but Im just not familiar with their products. Do they make a sound polish and wax system. Im going to top anything I get with Meguiars 2.0 Tec wax as I have had very good luck with that and may even do a coat of show car glaze so that is why I may want to strictly stick with Meguiars. They have not let me down yet.

I have not used either but I have heard people get great results with both products. I personally love using the Meguires line so I'm sure you can't go wrong with the 105/205 combo. That's next on my shopping list! Good luck!

105 is a very strong compound and should only be used if your paint is in horrible shape. S2000 paint is VERY soft, so using a harsh compound is seldom necessary. Something like Menzerna Super Intensive Polish followed by 106FA or PO85RD may better suit your needs.

As for the polisher, I'd go with a Porter Cable 7424XP since it has a proven track record. The G110s are made in china and are not as reliable.

either of the 2 above kits are going to be your best bet!
The new 7424xp polisher is a great machine, and has been refined over the old version.
