Default Meguiars NXT products

hey guys i waxed about 3 weeks ago, and wanted to check the life of the NXT wax. these are taken after a wash and spray with the quick detailer from meguiars. i would like a deeper shine tho, shud i do a thicker coat of wax for that?

nope- nxt is not known for its shine...
it is known for its ease of application and use

you might try some p21s over your nxt to make it pop a bit more, or go for a bit more time involved product if you are ready to make the move to the deep wet look

your car does look nice though, and seems to me that you need a badge!!

Wanabe,

I wanted to try the p21s over my Zaino - hopefully I'll have it in time for next weekend.

My question is, since I just zaino'ed yesterday, would it be okay to just wash my car with zaino wash next weekend, apply another coat of Z2 and then apply p21s after that?

Thanks for the advice!

I kind of like the NXT wax.

For me it works because my car is parked outside 24/7. We are talking New Jersey Suburbs and New York City. I would love to spring for some of the better waxes but I don't have the time, nor the luxury of a garage to Porter Cable better paint treatment and a better shine.

My experience with Meguiars is limited to their Cleaner/Wax and Gold Class which I used on my Porsche 924S.

The Gold Class puts a nice "organic" shine on the car. But I found it does not last, after two car washes with Sonex it's pretty much gone.
I am still in the learning phase with NXT has only used it for about three weeks.

The NXT shine seems brighter and more crisp. Don't think it has any greater longevity than the Gold Class.

These waxes do have mild cleaners built into them, so it is not possible to "layer" them. I have tried.

A very unscientific method is to alternate between Gold Class and NXT, but this is the initial stages.

I have been using NXT for the past year. My results are the same as Jondele's. I wax with the NXT around once per month. It is definatelly an easy wax to use. Just placed an order for Klasse yesterday. I will be getting the all in one and sealent. Do I need to use a prewax cleaner prior to applying the Klasse ?

looks good but you dont get a deep shine with synthetic wax. but you do with carnauba wax.

yup, you can just wash, apply more z2 and top it off with the p21s...
just make sure that you allow the z2 to cure first for best results-

you also can skip the z2 once you have two or three coats of z2 on the car- just wash and p21s- doesnt get any easier than that!

remember that p21s is a wipe on wipe off product. dont do the entire car and wipe it off- do small sections. when my daughters were younger it was a great father/daughter project for me to apply and they would follow and buff it out.

since i am a machine freak, i often machine the p21s- best if you have two machines (one to apply and one to remove) since you have to buff before it dries too much. normal folks do p21s by hand!! but i have to say that on my van, the machine is the only way to go.

I dunno, the car looks pretty good to me! If you're really wanting a better shine, one of the only ways to go is to use a machine. You get better results that way, and you may even see the results you want out of the NXT. Barring that, just pick a different product that requires a little more elbow grease. These usually have a higher shine and harder finish.
