My experience with the Flex tool
Sorry no pics but I didn't have my camera and couldn't wait to get started. First let me say as usual Phil at Detailer's Domain went out of his way to ensure my order was perfect and arrived quickly. I'm never as confident ordering online as I am with Phil.
I got my kit Friday and immediately unpacked the Flex to check it out. The thing was heavy! Plugged it in and tested the speeds. Anything above 4 was extremely intimidating for me since I'd only ever used the $20 dollar Walmart orbitals. However, after my second panel I was more than comfortable with it. I was quickly surprised at how easy it was to work with considering its weight. Once I began using it though the weight was a non issue. I imagine it's what made so easy to control.
If anyone was considering the Flex but nervous about being a noob and messing up their paint I'd say your fears are unfounded. Just follow the myriad tutorials on the web and you'll be fine. The return on investment for this tool is incalculable in my opinion. I would cringe every time I saw my car in direct sunlight for all the swirl marks. I won't have any sunlight until tomorrow but the paint appears perfect under the 1k halogens.
I used....
Dawn wash.
Adams Clay/detail spray.
Lusso Orro wash.
Flex tool 3401.
SIP- Orange pad
MicroPolish - CCS Blue pad (Meant to use green pad but didn't go back over my research and grabbed the blue by mistake. I guess my swirls weren't so bad I needed the green?)
IPA wipe down
Einsett Glanz- CCS Black Pad

awsome review so far. we have quite a few guys on this board who are looking to soon get everything needed to polish out their rides. though u feel u used the wrong pad with the lighter polish, you might have came out ahead. s2k paint is quite soft, so to finish out the paint nicely without any marring, it sounds like your combo worked out fine.
i look forward to seeing your after pics (nothing quite like a polished out NFR!), and i also agree that Phil's service is amazing. best online service i've had with anything. he's also very knowledgable about his products and can make some nice recommendations.
oh- and now that your paint is going to be perfect, make sure you have your washing technique down pat so it can stay that way!

good look driving Vegas top down. I also hear Vegas doesn't have very smooth shifts and it has a lot of swirls in it's paint. you made the right choice
what all did you order / do u plan on using for your big detail Adrian?

I've definitely upgraded my wash technique as well. I'm using the two bucket-grit guard method now but more importantly a filtration system. I'm on well water and have to flush the filter once a month. Every time it's full of sediment. So now I've added a dual filtration system to my hose water. It's filtering sediment as well as softening the water.
