Default Need some advice on claying my car.

I am thinking about hitting my car with the clay bar before the next wax to remove the certain particles that it is supposed to remove. my question is, what clay bar should i use and how do i use it? i was debating between meguiars or mothers. also, what should i expect from using the clay bar, and is it worth it?

either of those should be fine... be sure to use a good clay or detailers spray with it (after washing the car).
if your 02 has never been clayed, chances are you will get a benefit-
to test, put your hand in a plastic sandwich bag and slowly rub it over the car. if it sticks at all, its time to clay.
i test mine by feeling the paint with the backs of my fingers. it should be smooth- if not it needs clay.
the clay will lift off any imperfections imbedded in the paint.
i will track down more info and post it back here for you.

Clay magic is cheap, easy to find and is only $10. Cut it into 4 pieces. As the piece gets dirty just toss it.

Make sure you use plenty of lube and keep the clay moving.

You will feel more with a sandwich bag or some type of plastic.

I disagree on both are the same. The Mother's bar is junk IMO. It will break that and get way too sticker. The new Meguiar's bars that come in jars are nice. Otherwise I'd go with Clay Magic, 3M, Blackfire, etc..

Tried a different clay approach this past weekend. I tried it on my Tundra and it worked VERY well. I wet a panel down, washed it with Dawn & water, rinsed, rewashed the panel with Dawn & water, rubbed the panel with clay and rinsed again. Moved on to the next panel. Upon completion of the entire truck, dried with MF and leaf blower. Clean, VERY clean.
