New method of keeping my car clean, good or bad idea?
I live in a rather clean area. Not too dusty, and not too damp.
Heres what i've been doing for a while.
Every morning or when ever I get the time, I would Dust my car with the California duster, then I would spray Meguires Instant detailer and wipe it clean. The end result is a very smooth surface.
Is this safe and clean way to keep your car clean? or is there something harmful that I am doing to my car that I dont know about?

Seems ok to me. You might want to check closely for swirl marks or lines in the direction you wipe your car. If you don't find any, then you are not damaging the finish, and you are keeping the car looking good.
Just make sure that when you use the Duster, you're just gliding it along the suface - no rubbing or sweeping with any pressure at all. I've been watching my paint, and have used the Duster since day one, and haven't a scratch on her that can be attributed to cleaning.

I don't dust ( I'm afraid of scratches ) but, I do use Muguiar's Final Inspection ( #34 ). I buy it by the gallon, it's cheaper that way. I use 2 clean Microfiber towels to remove the detailer. If there are bugs on the front bumper, I'll let the detailer soak a little longer and use a different Microfiber towel to remove the bugs. Meguiar's Final Inspection is just like Quik Detailer. By using Microfiber towels there are no swirl marks on my car. Because of the above treatment, I also do not wash my car very often.
i also use the duster followed sometimes by a detail spray with microfiber...
i agree with prolene- this can add swirls, but after two years they are just beginning to show on my black car. i will swirl remove in the next month or so-
and wont change the duster/ spray routine after swirl removal because i think the benefits outweigh the swirls (as long as you are careful, the swirls take a long time to show, and are in the clear coat only- not in the paint).

After every drive I use the California duster, a detail spray from Griot's Garage called Speed Shine, then the Dustop cover goes on. Yes she's a garage queen! As long as you don't put pressure on the duster or use it on a dirty car it works great. No swirls/scratches.

I am in very clean area too - Chandler, AZ.
I have Sebring Silver and use same exact method - California Duster and Maguires detailer. I lightly glide the duster. So far not even the slightest of scratches from dusting. If there is too much dust, I will NOT use the duster, and will wash the car.
A few areas I NEVER even touch with the duster though:
1) The top of the back bumber, because it always seems to get more dust on it than rest of car. I just leave it alone, or run a quick wet sponge on it first.
2) Directly behind the wheels, because there is usually an additional layer of darker dirt ijn this area.
3) The black part of the windshield frame. Because it is black I never touch it with the duster. I wet the cloth very heavily with the detailer then wipe it. I am just afraid that the slightest scratch from dusting it will show.
I don't know how people with Black do it , because their entire car is black. I hope they are not dusting first.
