Thumbs up Ozone Generators

Has anbody here ever used an ozone generator on car interiors, and does anybody have or still use one? How well did/does it work?
I saw it listed on one of the detailing supply websites I visited, and was curious about these as it said it was supposed to "clean" the air and kill odors/mold/mildew, like pet or tobacco odor.

Maybe a detailing outfit has used one/ or still does use one.

Any info about how the machine works and where to get the best prices on one would be appreciated

Roger

you mean the big bad machines or the little one that plugs into the car lighter?

do you have specific odors you are after?

a good interior cleaning, including the vents and replacing the car's interior filters will go a long way towards freshening up the air unless you have mold or other problem in the car

I don't want to spend a ton of money on one, but wouldn't mind having one that isn't gonna bite the dust after using it once or twice a week. The kind that plug into the cigarette lighter might not be the greatest thing, as I want to let the car sit while its cleaning the air and not have to have the key on to use it. So, maybe big & bad but not alot of cash.

well, I am a smoker, so that smell isn't the easiest thing to get out of any car, even though I doo keep up on mine. I wouldn't mind having one as I detail cars for friends and family on occassion. My parents have pets they bring in there vehicles, and a couple of my friends are smokers as well.
Plus a good smelling interior is always a nice thing to get into everyday.

Ozone is just O3, reactive oxygen. It will break up organics, but real smoke leaves tars/PAHs that constantly evolve off more odor.

A real ozone generator used over the long term will cause more damage to the interior than you would imagine and not too good for your lungs. (CA just restricted the sale for home use.)
