Painting CF
I have to have my cf hood repainted. It is a fiberglass base with a cf top. I am worried that baking the hood may change the shape of the hood, specifically that the baking may further cure the cf altering the shape. I obviously don't know very much about this so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Bake or no bake?
i do not know... but a good body shop would- are you doing this yourself?
if a body shop is doing it, check with them and let us know what they say.
someone else here might know, but the body shop should for sure-

I am planning on having the hood repainted at a BMW collision center in Wilmington, DE. My pop's bmw was smashed in the rear and they made the car look absolutely perfect. I'm just not too sure how familiar they are with composite hoods.
My CF spoiler was baked when it was painted and nothing happened to it. They may have to lower the temp in the baking process, but they will check with the paint manufacturer (as they did with my spoiler) to see if it's a concern or not. A good shop won't screw it up, you should be fine.
