Default PC 7424 Polishing Pad

Anyone use the original white foam polishing pad that came w/ the PC 7424? What grade of pad is it? (polish/finishing).

I want to "Liven Up" my Beater car this weekend, and haven't recieved by DAS pads yet.

its a medium density pad...
and its fine for learning on the beater with!

i would use it for the polish but do not use it for both... always dedicate the pad to the purpose (separate pads for polishing and for finishing stages).

i mark the backs of my pads as to what they are for (i even have separate pads for each car!)

a difference of opinion posted at the same time as mine!
i respect that it is an opinion... and remember when i used mine the first time. couldnt wait! the pad that comes with the machine is fine for its very limited use, imo (and especially on the beater for learning). the pads that you ordered will give you more flexibility.

It's a 97 accord, i'll just throw some meguairs cleaner wax on it w/ the PC and original polishing pad and call it a day. I don't want to spend too much time on it.

The pad that comes with the machine IMO is a POS. But, if you're just doing your beater then I say "go for it!" If you were working on your pride & joy then I would say wait for the good stuff to come. I'm not sure how much of an improvement you'll see using cleaner wax though. Cleaner wax is typically not as durable as straight wax as well.

Is the original pad for applying polish (like Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion), or for applying wax (Carnuaba paste wax)?

As wanabe said, it's a medium density light polishing pad - similar to something like the Sonus DAS Green pad or SFX-2 pad. I used mine to polish the top of the bathroom vanity with the rotary, then threw it out.

the original pad isnt actually meant to be a pad. Its supposed to be used with a microfiber or terrycloth bonnet over it...
