Default PC speed

What effect, if any, does speed have when you're polishing? Can you tell the difference in the finish or appearence from one setting to another?

great question!
higher speeds cut down your work time...
also some scratches need higher speeds to take them down- prob could do the same job with longer time on lower speed.

when you are starting out, keep the speed down. during the first use of the pc you will start to get comfort with it and can slowly increase the speed. i find that even a beginner can usually get up to the higher speeds the first time.

btw, you dont need to turn the speed all the way up!

start out around 3 or so and work up to 5 or so...
(actual speed depends on what you are doing- swirl removal can be done at a bit lower speeds than more aggressive compounding)

lotsa other tips, but most important:
start and stop the machine with the pad touching the car
cord behind your back to keep it off of the paint
dont wear zippers!
finish with front to back motions

and most important-
enjoy the ride!!
