Default Permanent Marker

I noticed yesterday that someone had drawn a line with permanent marker on the back door of our Toyota Matrix (Silver). It is about a foot long and actually there is another stripe a few inches on the rear bumper. I think it happened when she went to the grocery store the other day. I don

I'd say try some clay or maybe a polish will take it out but I doubt it. If not some compund should do the trick, then follow it up with a polish and a coat of wax.

agree that clay should do it...
if not i would try the following (make sure to test these in an inconspicous place to make sure that they are not damaging the paint (inside fender is a good place - the lip):

1. mr. clean magic eraser (which is similar to clay, and not really for paint so gotta be really careful)- it can leave swirls and you would want to polish after this
2. gumout carb cleaner
3. hairspray (then you gotta remove the hairspray!)

good old detailers clay should do the trick- and its safe and easy to use.

with any of the above, wash the car before and after the treatment. then be sure to inspect to see if it needs to be polished. it will need wax or synthetic in the treated area.

let us know how it goes!!

Just use another Permanent Marker and draw in the same place. Do small sections. Make sure you wipe off right away before it dries. No kidding on this one.

I'll bet this works. I've noticed, mostly on spray bottles, that when I cross off the old "label" I wrote on one with the same Sharpie, it seems like the old ink gets "re-wet" when I do it.

I would try some goof off and make sure to wash with soap and water because it leaves a residue.
