Default Porter cable or griot's?

im looking for some personal experience with these two polishers. im looking to pull the trigger on either one but i would like to see which one you guys prefer in terms of performance. i am new to polishing and i have never tackled a polish job with an actual machine. as far as my knowledge and experience goes i only know how to wash, clay and apply wax by hand. any other products i should pick up while i am at it (i.e. polish, wax, swirl removers, sealant, foam pads, terry cloth bonnet etc). any advice is appreciated

I would go with the Griots. I'm under the impression that not only is it one of the better machines on the market, Griots has a lifetime warranty on everything they sell.

I have their 6in machine and I love it.

Same I have their 6 inch machine and it works beautifully. Very easy to control. I think it can be had for cheaper than the porter cable as well if you look for a sale.

I have the griots too. It's a great tool.

Autogeek has sale for fathers day. You have 2 days left. 15% order and free shipping over $125. That would have been nice when I bought my stuff last month.

Also the same with the above members. Have the 6" Griots and it works great, also has more power I believe than the PC. I was dead set on the PC then a friend told me to take a look at the Griots and I ended up getting it.

Same here, bought the griots last year and love it. I have used the ported cable from a friend, and it works just as good. Either way, both are great, just a matter of price.

Since you pretty much chose the griots, it's time for pad choice and polishers.

I chose the following: http://www.autogeek.net/menzerna-maximum-shine-kit.html

They worked on my S very well. I didn't care for the bonnets though. Either way. Do your research. Read a lot. Watch a lot of videos. Oh yeah. Have fun.

Both are great machines, have used my OG Porter Cable 7424 for the better part of 10 years and has never let me down. But now en days there are a lot more options, the Griots has slightly more amps in the motor but the same 2500-6800 OPM speed. Get whatever fits your budget and def. get the right pads and polishes to tackle the job.
