Oh I misread it then. I'll be ordering the 7424 xp. Thanks for all the help.

The classic 7424 used to vibrate like crazy when set to the 6th speed setting (it's hard to balance a velcro-backed LC pad perfectly). Since the XP has more power, won't it vibrate even more when set to the max setting? If yes, is the higher power setting even useful?

Also, does the XP have a 1-6 speed dial like to old PC7424 or did they add something like a 7th or 8th speed setting?

I think it actually vibrates a bit less on 6 than the old one, but YMMV.

Still a 6-speed dial though

I've been using the 7424xp on customers cars for about a year now. I've done probably 200 cars in the last year with it. I love it. Vibration is VERY minimal, and yes it has a 1-6 speed setting. If I had to do it again, I think I would go with the Flex DA, just because I run a business, and I have to get cars turned around pretty fast. The Flex has a stronger motor than the 7424xp.

I have the Flex DA and I wouldn't replace it with a PC, I would use them hand-in-hand.

The downside of the Flex DA is it doesn't have interchangable backing plates to use different sized pads.
