kctheflish- yes, you can layer carnubas- each layer does need to cure (overnight is best if the car is in the garage). i find that you dont get much by putting down more than two layers, but i do like having two. and i do them over my synthetics! i do buff out the first one before the cure process- so if you try it without the removal, let us know what you think of it.

quadracer22- thats more than you need for a beginner's kit, but go for it!
autogeeks does do discounts... but the most recent one that i have is free shipping on floor mats!!

I'll check to see if there a placard on the Griot's version that indicates who makes it. If it's a knock-off it a damn good cause I can't tell the difference by looking.
The old polisher Griot's used to sell was the PC, but now they sell the red one with the fan on it. I don't see a similar machine in the Porter Cable catalogue. So, I'm guessing it's made by someone else. I can't imagine that it would be cost effective for Griot's to have Porter Cable make them their own version of the machine. It becomes even less plausible when you consider they lowered the price, but added features to the machine.

[QUOTE=kctheflish, Nov 13 2006, 01:23 PM]Here's a wax question for you though...don't know if you've ever tried this.

Griot's details a process that, they say provides and incredible layer of clarity and durablity by laying down a very thin layer of wax (with PC) and letting it setup for 2 hours then coming back and laying down another layer (with PC) of wax without removing the first layer.

This is what I bought, by far the best purchase yet. I have already been using it to take out scratches and whatnot on my parents cars, works wonders. btw, top of the line gets my , my order shipped out the next morning after I ordered it (ordered at like 10pm the night before), I received it in 4 days, from the west coast to the east. FAST SHIPPING!

Also their light cut polish is awesome. Try that out.

I also purchased their medium polish along with some claybar.

Highly reccomended. I think all told was 240 shipped to my door. Excellent results.
