Products help!
I have light to moderate swirling and the scratches on my spa. I bought the meguiars clay bar with qds, and was thinking some Zymol wax, to hand polish. Im gonna ask for a porta power and some other thigns for xmas. Most of my chemicals are back home. Will that wax/hand pad be sufficient to help with my problem?
Neither claying nor waxing will remove swirls and scratches. You need to get a PC or G110, with a couple of good polishes that can be used with a D/A. You can always try a scratch remover, like ScratchX (though i'd wait until the new formula comes out nearly next year); but that is hard work if you attempt to apply it to the whole car. Meguiar's has some new products coming out in early 2009: SwirlX, ScratchX, and Ultimate Compound, each of which can be used by hand. But I would save my pennies up and go for a D/A polisher. Lots of places are offering Xmas sales on both PCs and G110s right now.

scratchX doesnt work all that great for me. i tried it on my swirls on a small section to test out but it didnt go away. i might just not be buffing hard enough though
ScratchX 2.0 is a completely new formula, akin to Meguiar's M105. It works a lot, lot better!

assuming you are using an LC green pad, then that pad has no cut at all. i've never used M151, but from reading about it, it sounds like something along the lines of an all in one like optimum poliseal (someone correct if i am wrong). based on that at minimum you would need to step up to a white pad and probably an orange pad if you have moderate swirls. in general, honda clear is very, very soft and should not at all be difficult to correct.
I am not acquainted with the Lake Country pads nor have I used D151; but I've read a number of articles about it over at Meguiar's Online. I suspect that most who use it are rotary-polishers, but those who use it with a D/A always use it with a Megs' yellow polishing pad. I do not know what the equivalent LC pad would be. If used rightly, you should be able to get a decent cut with it. See this D151 review. You might consider sharing your experience with folks at MOL and asking their advice.
