Default Question about wax and polish

Hi all! On thursday of this week and friend of mine and I are getting together to do a full detail job of our cars interior and exterior. Normally I just use meguiar's Gold Glass Polish, I believe its called, and that yielded great results. Recently I just bought Meguiar's NXT wax and this is my first time ever using wax. So my question is once I am done with actaully washing the car / wheels / tires / etc, do I put the wax on first (I assume you apply it just like polish) and then put the polish over it once I buff it out and then buff out the polish? Also any NXT tips are welcome on applying it and I am aware that putting one coat of it on is all that is needed since it will "clean" itself away.

Thanks!

Regards,
Jonathan

Also I wanted to know how long should I let the wax sit before I buff it off as well as the polish? Thanks

Jonathan

polish is like a skin cleaner... you buff the heck out of it so it can exfoliate your car!
then you wax after you remove the polish. wax preserves and protects.
so polish first then nxt (which also contains cleaners in it).

since most folks do not understand the polish step, here are some great instructions from one of our members:

wanabe: great link! Overall just one more question. After polishing the surface I just wax right over it? Since I have not used NXT wax before how long do I wait before buffing it off, is it the same as polish (2min or so)?

Thanks again!

pretty much apply and remove (say 10 minutes should be plenty)... no long cure time needed.
and even more info!
