a question after waxing...
i just came from outside as i was waxing the car useing carnauba wax
im pretty pleased with the result (although its night time)
and its my first time waxing
so , now that im finished, i have a question
because of the dirt that gets everywhere here in kuwait , my car gets washed almost daily (sometimes me , sometimes the driver) useing fairy soap
iv heard fairy soap accually strips all the wax out
is this true? what can i use instead? if i dont wash my car , then how am i going to keep it clean from all the dust?
thanks!

I have never heard of fairy soap and I'm trying to NOT laugh when I think about it.
Do you know what a grease pencil is? If you have a grease pencil (or coloured wax crayon), then draw a line on a metal surface. If your fairy soap takes that off, then it will take off your wax.
You should be using a dedicated "car wash" soap. This is very common in N. America.

As has been mentioned, use a dedicated car "soap" as other "soaps" may contain detergents and THAT is what you want to avoid. Detergent, that is.
As for using water only, I know some people do it this way, but I think you're asking for trouble. The molecular makeup of the soap is designed to break the bond between the surface and the dirt, and also to "capture" the dirt particle and insulate it from the surface. Therefore, as friction is reduced and the molecular bonds are broken, there is a significantly lower probability of scratching your paint when using the proper soap AND wash mitt.

this is what you should do...use fairy soap (dawn, washing detergent) to completely wash your car and get rid of old wax and other crap....then do the polish and wax job....from then on use a soap designed for cars that will not remove the wax (remove it very slowly).
