Default Quick car wipedown question.

I have a quick question that I was unable to really find any answer to. I drive my car mainly on weekends, or a quick trip to the store. I really don't mind rinsing off the car each time before I put the car cover back on. However, I think it is a little overboard for how minor the dirt accumulation is, or the few bug splats there are.

So, I after I do a good detail job, I use Mothers Showtime instant detailer and a few micro fiber cloths to wipe the car down with after a drive. Is this hurting anything that anyone can think of? I usually go two or three wipe downs this way before I do a full wash again.

Here is the product I use,

Thanks

nothing wrong with it at all! just make sure to use good quality microfibers and to keep them clean. might save you some money to use ONR for a detail spray instead of the mothers. http://www.detailersdomain.com/index.asp?P...PROD&ProdID=231
that product can be diluted (not sure of the ratio, but its printed on th bottle) for use as a detail spray, clay lube, or car wash, and works great!

I do wash the microfibers in a residue free soap each time. Thanks for the link, I might look into that for next time.

best process would be to start with a duster...
a duster is not a wipe down deal.
its a gently flick off the dust deal...

dust the car, then use your product. exactly what my car gets.

Nothing wrong with the process you are using. The mothers will work for now, but look into getting the meguiars Ultimate QD.

Overall is the Meguiars brand that much better?

I am asking that without running a search in the forum here. I will be doing that as time allows to see what the prior discussions were. (Hopefully my question does not open a slue of debates).

As for dusters, a friend of mine uses the California Car Duster, is this what was mentioned? I would imagine that needs to be washed quite often as well. Is the dry duster first that much better?

I guess I would think you are spreading around dry dust before picking it up. I guess not using it is like spreading mud first? Just trying to figure this all out.

Thanks again.

I have both the regular meguiar's qd, and mother's qd, and find the mequiars to be superior. Mothers does smell like cinnamon though.
