Unfortunately it'll be another 2 weeks now until I purchase my polisher and kit. The flex is awesome, I watched videos of it out doing pc, but idk if I need that just because I'm learning.

My lights started flickering so I'm installing belt, battery, and alternator.

 

Which lights are flickering? Why do you believe that your alternator needs to be changed?

 

Gauge lights. I read several threads it's a common problem. Just finished, wow that was easy. Alternator, belt, and battery went on in about 40 minutes. This car is very user friendly to work on. Flickering gone, now back to my detail learning lol.

 

Go with the flex if its in your budget, its much easier to learn on that than the PC. Some polishes take forever to breakdown with the PC and can end up being very frustrating to use. Your hand and your body will thank you later for it.

 

I will soon be ordering the flex. I have had a Porter Cable 7424 for years and feel the flex is much faster and more effective. Same weight but less time and better results. Good luck with your promotion, but take it slow and heed advice from folks on this forum and detailing sites. Experience is the best teacher.

One thing I've picked up when I clean it. Dry the car before I leave wash and use detail spray to dry with. No more water marks and streaks!

 

Get one of those crazy water blotters, makes it very fast and no scratching.

If you do go with the PC, i suggest buying anti-vibration gloves from home-depot.
