Default Removal of Dealer Rear Decals

Does anyone know of a method to remove the Dealer Decals usually placed on the rear trunk, etc?

Someone once told me amonia, vinegar, or a heat gun. The heat gun probably would also remove the underlying paint. Anyone out there know something?

A heat gun is bit too hot and will strip paint. Leave the car's decal exposed to the sun on a hot day and then carefully and slowly peel the decal off. If no hot day, try a hair dryer or a hot water bottle against it for 5-10 min.

Hot sun or a hot water bottle might work on a thin decal, the type we used on model planes 30 yrs or so ago. The decals that the dealers use are a thick, very sticky type. They're really not a decal but rather a sticker of sorts.

I'll try it, but I think there is some chemical, whatever, that will make it easy. Maybe it's just wishful thinking.

I have used a hair dryer in the past to remove decals.. heat up the decal, and work on a corner, it will take some time. Once you get the edge lifted, you can keep heating from the sticky side, and keep pulling back on the decal. You will need some cleaner to get the glue off after.

That's funny. And when you're done you can solder with it. I might try to make one.

I used dental floss and Goo Gone cleaner to get the adhesive. Then I took a 100% cotton cloth and wiped the area clean. Worked very well!

You should make the dealer do it....
The main reason being they put the damn thing on in the first place !!!

If they mess up or damage your paint then they should sort it out
