Default Removing Swirls

Ok Ladies and Gentleman. I am looking for a bit of insight on what would be the wisest choice in removing this oxidation and mess of swirls?

This is my friends 94 civic. Any advice is welcome. I do have a porter cable BTW but is that enough for this kind of job?. I am interested in knowing what direction to head as far as some polish and pads that would be good for the job. Thanks .

now thats a detailers dream!!
not much you can do that wont improve that...
i dont see nasty scratches, just a bunch of swirls.

starting point is reading/ watching. and our how tos are filled with advice:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=221878

and yes, your pc should be able to handle this job.
i would have to inspect to tell whether you need a compound (cause its a bit harder for a newbe to use), but my guess is that you dont- guessing that a fine cut worked really well will get 90% of this out. the swirl remover will get the rest and will uncloud the fine cut.
if the fine cut isnt getting most, then i would move to the compound, and then back down again.
the menzerna line would be a good choice for this car i think. when you get ready for products, phil (ouyr sponsor detailersdomain.com) can help you out.

but again, your first step is reading and education...

Some Menzerna Super Intensive Polish with an orange pad, followed by Menzerna Nano Polish with a white pad, a sealant, then a good carnuba wax, like Lusso Oro!!

Good info so far Thanks . There are definitely some scratches on this car, although nothing to deep. The paint on the bumpers is peeling and whatnot from being hit also. So really if the swirls were mostly gone and the paint looked decent at least on the hood roof and trunk, then he would be ecstatic. A quick question though about the menzerna polish. The ones that are listed as super intensive and nano polish say they are for use on German clearcoats. Does this matter when choosing a polish or should I go with the other ones that they have listed?

The PowerGloss made short work of my sanding marks. Those swirls wouldnt stand a chance.
