Default Restoring leather finish

I have the townsend products and I do the cleaner and then conditioner every 3-4 months. My driver side has lots of creases, but that dosent concern me too much. But today I noticed that on the side of my bosters where the piping is, has worn really badly. I think from my jeans rubbing against them when I get outta the car. I try to be mindful of the bolsters, but in my garage I cant open my door all the way so sometimes its hard to.

I used the search, and I have come to the conclusion that Townsend is good for cleaning and maintaining your leather, but how do you restore worn finish? During my search I read in one place that Leatherique is a great product to restore leather finish. I would like to get the finish back in shape along the piping and the keep it that way as well as possibly minimize the creasing. I now realize that I probably need to clean and condition my driver seat every month or so, since it gets the most use. To keep the leather in top shape, but what can I do to get it back to newish.

Any sugguestions for me to try or comments about Leatherique?

normally we would put this in the leather thread and have sean answer it, but that thread is locked for construction... hold on and it will be back up and we will get an answer for you!

leatherique is a great product. the results are MUCH more apparent than lexol (although i still use lexol for maintenance).
i only use leatherique about twice a year though and lexol for every other occasion... did wonder for my lexus leather seats (have not tried on the S's bucket seats yet)

I personally am not a fan of leatherique, their rejuvinator is essentially as oil...an oil that can cause the finish to peel from the leather or create premature wear. Any leather company who sells a product that is widely known to be bad for finished leather won't get my vote.

If the finish is worn, you could either use the rub-in black color to restore the finish to the worn area yourself or you could call in a professional to do it. The rub-in is inexpensive and works great, I would really give it a try.

Hope this helps,
Sean

Hey Sean, I'm just wondering if you have actually used leatherique yourself or even seen others who has used it? I have to say you are the first person that I've ever heard that has anything negative to say about them. Not only did it work wonders for me, but I've seen some amazing jobs that others have done w/ leatherique. If you have previous experience, can you share what happened and what I need to watch out for?

It also seems like Zeemz has used the product that you endorse (townsend) and has problem w/ wear. Restoring leather is actually the strongest point of leatherique... I hope you are not trying to scare people from trying a product that can do what your product can't

You are well respected here so please respond and give me your opinion because I'm preparing to condition my seats this weekend and I have a choice of Lexol, Leatherique and Zaino's leather in a bottle to choose from so far....

I'd be interested as well. I do the Lexol shampoo and conditioner twice a month, but I don't think it really does any HUGE differeance to its looks, I just figured it was maintaining it.
