rock chips under the door
so i was washing my car last weekend, and noticed that i had a rock chip on the part of the car under the driver's door. the chip is not too big in surface area (about 1/2 the size of an M&M), but it looks like it's pretty deep, with metal exposed.
the front wheel must've kicked up something decent-sized which resulted in the chip.
anyhow, the chip is on the very bottom of the side of the car under the door, where it starts to transition to the underside of the car, where the paint kinda gets rough and bumpy (this "bumpy" part runs between the front and rear wheel wells along the bottom 1/2 inch or so of the sides of the car).
any suggestions on what to use to cover up the chip? would just touch-up paint be enough protection, or should i buy some sort of spray on undercoating? with winter around the corner, i just want to make sure i get this covered up asap before any sand/salt/etc. get into it.
Thanks!
