Default sanded the interior

I did something really stupid. the letters on my power outlet cover on the center console were fading so I decided to sand it out completely. but I sanded the center compartment door on accident and now it looks all dull and kinda white. my interior is black. any ideas on how to fix this?

Wow, that sucks. I scraped my secret stash door up pretty bad.... and I haven't been able to think of anything to do to it, to try and fix it... until now.

Would some Back to Black by Mothers work?

Might just want to replace the compartment door. I cannot be TOO expensive.

here's a possible solution I got from luder94

"It's unpainted. Here's how to fix it:

Put a flame to the area that's been sanded. Don't melt it, just anneal it back and forth with a flame.

The scratch will luster back to being the original plastic finish (rather than the whitened finish that is result of the sanding). Unfortunately, the scratch itself may not come out....but it will blend in nicely to the untainted dash.

There's a way to polish the actual scratch out...but it's more complicated to explain by writing it out.

Don't try the torch method out to anything other than a Honda dash/plastic. BMW and others will melt quite badly doing this method.

Urmil"

the back to black worked too! but I'm thinking that it might just be temporary. I'll try luder94's method if it's still there. I hope this will help other people too

So you tried the back to black? How did it do? I have a couple scrapes I put in the top of my secret stash, want to try to get them out.

And that melting idea has crossed my mind... but didn't sound too safe, but it's worth a shot.

it looked like it was better when I first put it on, but then it came back. it's still better than without it though so give it a shot.

Anyone tried re-melting it? To see how well it works?
