Scratches
The other day after getting off work I noticed not just one scratch, but two new ones, one on each side of my 00 silverstone. Needless to say I was very saddened at this new discovery to my precious vehicle
. What would you suggest in this matter being that the paint was broken in both instances and I dont want my paint to start peeling from here on out. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

or just in the clear?
pics?
if they are relatively light, a polish will help...
if deep then touch-up will be needed.
as soon as we know which applies, we can provide some more tips!
Sorry, the scratches are just enough that the paint could be peeled in either direction with a thumbnail. Not able to do pics at the time. The two are scratched to the clear. Not down to the metal. I do however have a rock chip it seems from where my right rear tire must have kicked one up that caused a scratch down to the metal on the lip of the panel behind the right rear tire. Hope thats enough info, thanks again.

sounds like you have a paint crack-
choices:
1. attempt touch-up (depends on how bad the paint has separated as to whether this will work or not)
2. remove the cracked area- more risky... and this is more likely to end up in your bodyshop! unless you can tell that it will be a small area...
doesnt sound like polish alone is an option based on what you described...
some good touch-up and paint repair info:

Wow, that was a great article. Thanks wanabe, I guess I'll hit up the Honda dealership tomorrow ask them what they think, and pick up some touchup paint as well as the products mentioned in the article you provided. Thanks again.

post back what the dealer says so we can give you a second opinion...
one thought:
if you might take it to be repaired anyway, maybe give it a try yourself-
worst case is that you take it in to be fixed.
best case- you do it yourself and will be able to do it again next time!
As an update I checked with the dealer and found that on wed and friday mornings a free lance honda enthusiast does touch ups behind the dealership. So this morning I checked him out to see what he could do. I was a little skeptical at first but allowed him to apply the touch up paint with a syringe and work his trade. He did an exceptional job I must say and though with extremely careful examination a tiny remnant of the old scratch is visible I'm content for now to leave it as it is. In the future however I might try sanding and polishing as shown in the article wanabe provided. Thanks again wanabe for your help
