Question shi* I spilled some extra touch up

Well got home from the gym and notice a small chip. Got the touch up out, and was applying it and suddenly my left hand just let go and the brush fell on a small patch of my paint smearing a small sqaure spot. I for some reason panicked and then took my towel and rubbed it with water which of course didn't work. Just made it worse.

All I could think of then was rubbing alcohol? I dabbed a small amount on a towel rubbed it on the smear and it came off!! Whew. I then rinsed the area off with several wet towels and some soap.

My question is...How bad can rubbing alcohol damage your paint? I rinsed the area off with some wet towels very small area and then dabbed some soap ont he area also and finally took another wet towel to the area.

Remember don't ever use touchup when your just finished lifting weights lol. Damn!!

you are probably good...

i would clay the area (remember that clay was first used by body shops to get off paint overspray) to make sure that it really is paint free.
then, be sure to rewax-

a detailers trick for getting wax off of trim parts is to use alcohol... alcohol will remove wax very nicely (and as long as we are on the subject... its also good for removing ink stains on interiors- but again, be sure to clean that area and preserve it)!

yeh thanks, I'm not to picky as long as my visible eye can't see it or feel it I'm good. But I was just worried about rubbing alcohol doing damage

Definately rewax the area.

Alcohol and soaps that are not made for the car eat clearcoat. Over time the area will oxidize at an excelerated rate.
