Default Speed 5 and 6 on the PC

I just noticed that on my PC, each number has 5 increments before the next one (i.e. 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, etc.) except from 5 to 6. From 5 it immediately jumps to 6 and the rotational speed seems more drastic. I tried moving the knob slowly to see if I could hear a difference in-between, but the change sounds the same.

My model is the 7336. Can anyone with a 7424 or G100 chime in? I'm just curious to see if the other models are the same way. When I posted my torn FlexPlate picture on Autopia, DavidB suggested I use the PC on speed 5.5, but unfortunately such a setting does not exist on mine!

My 7424 has only whole numbers labeled, and the jump between 5-6 is pretty dramatic. I'm not sure there's a true in-between speed. If you want "5.5" then step it down from 6 and stop as soon as you notice a change.

Oh yeah, sorry I wasn't that clear enough. Mine also shows only whole numbers, but the knob clicks 5 times between every number except from 5 to 6, where it only clicks once.

Nope.. I don't think there's really a setting between 5 and 6 on the PC... once you set it above 5, it's like hitting vtec in the S

Yup! There's no such thing as speed 5.5 on the PC. I don't know why people keep saying they polish at that speed because it doesn't exist.
