Default Spiders

It's spider season in North Texas. Sadly they a)freak me the f out and b)are seemingly drawn to all parts of the exterior of my car. God forbid one makes it inside - there would be another "I totalled my S today" thread. What can I apply to my car that would be safe for the paint, the top and won't negatively impact the clarity of my glass? I am not well versed on arachnids, but I have killed several types ranging from web builders in the mirrors to some giant thing just lounging on my passenger door, all in various locations. Type and parking location don't seem to be mitigating factors. I just want them gone. Quickly. Any guidance would greatly appreciated.

If these little critters are in your garage, use a bug bomb in the garage while it's empty. If parked outside, the only thing I can think of would be to spray the surrounding area to discourage the little buggers. Including bushes and any obvious hiding spots. Good luck, you may have to retreat every two weeks at least through late summer.

Agree with bombing the garage. If they are in the car, let it sit in the sun for a few hours all zipped up and they will either cook or leave!

Fortunately my garage is safe, but if I go anywhere I will inevitably find one or more clinging to my car... I used to spray my dsm's and lexus when I treated the back yard with the hose mounted applicator, but I'm hesistant to do it with the S. My primary concern with the S is having the chemicals soak into the soft top and leech into the car, which would essentially be cutting off my nose to spite my face. A friend recommended a mixture of coconut oil and vinegar, but once again I'm concerned about how it will react with the soft top. Diluted peppermint oil maybe? I definitely wouldn't mind smelling minty fresh all the time, and it apparently repels spiders, mice, and more.

Spiders are next to impossible to kill and very seriously doubt a bug bomb would even begin to hinder them. Put a bird feeder outside in the general area of the car, the birds will come and help you out a bit...but not at night, they will also take multiple dumps on your car...some thanks for the free food huh? Lizards eat them too, but not sure what to do to get lizards to stay other than foliage close to the ground.

Get some Malathion and spray it on the car. (Garage too) Let dry and air out. Enjoy. (Don't worry, you won't get cancer from it and your kids will not have flippers)

Our biggest PIA at the beach are spiders. I knock out their cobwebs, spray and spray and the next day they are back. I have given up and am learning to live with them. Could be worse, snakes!!

I've had that happen in my MR2. Spider decided to drop down by a strand right in front of my face. I just slapped him out of the way and out the window.
