dont waste your time with the autobacs clay, go to chemical guys warehouse in Inglewood, they have everything you need

i would recommend the light duty blue clay

I've always used the Clay Magic clay that you can get at Pep Boys or Autozone. Never needed anything lighter or stronger than that, since I usually follow that up with a good polishing

clay magic is the best OTC

sonus, swissvax and zymol clay are tied for best imo

they are soft enough that they won't marr paint, but they are aggressive enough that it'll take everything off your paint

first off- are you sure that you need to clay?
is your paint rough?

i like to use my foamer to clay- foam and wash the car, rinse it and i usually leave it wet- then refoam and leave the foam as i clay. if it starts to dry anywhere, i rinse or refoam...

after claying, i rewash then dry and after you gotta rewax (or resynthetic)!

no its actually really smooth after a wash.

i do have some part of the S that has swirls very minor and i also have those little dots pen dots on my rear bumper.

i ask cause the car is almost 5 years old.

and on the steps.

can i do this.

1. rinse
2. soap
3. rinse
4. leave it wet then wax?

am i right? im somewhat confused. i have been reading so many threads about how to use clay bar some people they leave it wet and some dry, so whats the correct way of using the clay bar.

5 years old and no clay? go clay it now

you can clay a dry car, doing one panel at a time using detail spray or clay lubrication

The clay wont get rid of the swirls if thats what your trying to do. Im sure theres someone in your area that can do a complete detail on your car including clay and swirl removal. Ask on here or check out autopia.org They have awesome step by steps too.
