I know how theyre not as soft as regular microfiber towels but remember that you're using this towel to dry and absorb the water on the body of your car, so when I use them, I just gently drag them across the surface, and not forcefully drag them as if you were wiping or scrubbing something.

I always had this idea of "If you would not dry yourself with it, don't use it on the car". If it is not soft feeling, and are wary, then don't use it.

I prefer Cobra Waffle Weave Ultimate Guzzler drying towels.
They are 26"x40 (I believe),extremely soft, and after sheeting the car, can dry it off with one towel.

^I'm with that guy. I almost always break out the leaf blower to get majority of the water off the car and then there is very little left to dry. It also helps get water out of the mirrors, gas cap area, door handles, lug nut area on wheels. all the annoying places that water would run out of after you think the car is completely dry.

I use an electric one, it has a few speeds so I can turn it up or down depending on the area of the car.

Then I can use the towel to get any excess water that might be lingering.

For berlina black, I'd say it's a bit rough. Check out CG waffle weave towels. I found them to be quite soft compared to DD.
