Default The Wacko is spreading

Hey everyone!

The brunt of the detailing season is upon us obviously. The seasoned wackos (especially those who DD their S such as myself) have been hard at work already trying to get the winter grime off

Being as Oregon's nicer weather has been late in coming, our group here has been starting to get antsy for the driving season. We've all been waiting for a chance to get our cars ready for some good showing-off on our drives and it just hasnt been cooperating with us very well, especially for those in the valley area who deal with more rain than the other side of the mountains (like me).

So we've finally had it! It is obviously too easy to just shop for a group rate at a detail shop so we are going that extra mile. At our last lunch meet, we discussed a detail day of our own. After a little back and forth, we came to the consensus that we all could use a good cleaning and cant be doing group drives with a road-slimed car, plus some of the group wanted to take that first big step down the rabbit-hole of

An initial feeler thread had 13 people respond with great interest about doing our OWN detail day. Our very close-knit group has set in motion a plan and we're shooting for May 10th as a group meet/potluck/detail extravaganza. Many of our members have volunteered supplies ranging from PCs and Orbitals to Foam Guns, countless different polishes and waxes, and of course plenty of knowhow to share amongst one another.

One very gracious member donated her property for our use! Not just the driveway...
- Her lawn where we will set up a Canopy tent for the initial washing/clay
- Her Shop where the exterior detailing will be taking place
- Her garage where we will focus on interior detailing

We're currently looking at 9 confirmed people with 2 weeks left for signup. I have a feeling that once we shake off this most recent rain system, we will end up with many more. I have never done something like this so I'm not sure how it will all work out, but my gut feeling is that we're going to have almost an assembly-line going 2-at-a-time for washing, exterior and interior from 8am till we decide we're done. Considering the Potluck and one member's offer to DJ...that could be any hour

Naturally, after the event, I will be updating this thread with pictures and I'm sure many new badge requests will be flooding in to Wanabe
I'd love to hear from the rest of you wackos with any comments or suggestions!

Not really, Everyone had certain things they wanted to do or learn. Not everyone did detailing, a couple just hung out, ate and socialized. I thought it went pretty well for the first time.
