Default washing car

Does the soft-top require any special care? are there any products out there that would increase the top's longevity?

The soft-top is made of vinyl, so washing it regularly with car wash soap and a sponge/wash mitt will keep it in good shape. If your soft-top is especially dirty, 303 makes a good convertible top cleaner that works well. After you clean the soft-top, you should also apply some vinyl protectant to it every couple of months to keep it from fading/cracking. Lexol Vinylex and 303 Aerospace Protectant are two popular products for this

quick tip- do not spray the protectants on the top... soak them onto a rag away from the car- you dont want that stuff all over your paint!

also, if your top is dirty, i like to use a brush to clean it- along with the products mentioned above (i usually just use my car shampoo and find that it does just fine)

Raggtop also makes an Aerosol spray that I've been using for about 6 years now. Works great! Water beads nicely and the protection lasts for at least a year. A heavy application takes about 1/2 of the can so one can will last more than two years.

If you do apply it directly just cover the glass and paint with a towel and don't apply if there is any breeze, do it in your garage. The car has a bit of funny odor for a day or two but the products works better than expected.
