Ok, I think I'm switching from raggtopp to 303. We've had some serious rain here in the northeast and my top sucks in water like a towel.

i have some meguiars #40 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner
but have not used it yet.... does anyone know how well this stuff works?
id really hate to mess up my top.. it says it cleans etc etc, but says nothing about protecting. also, do you guys just wet down your top before applying 303 or whatever, or do you wash the top off a bit (like with a mit/soap that you would use to wash your car?)?

This rain has been ridiculous!! I use Ragg Topp myself and the water has been pretty much sliding right off my top. I used 303 before I started using Ragg Topp and I can tell you the Ragg Topp does a better job repelling water.
