Default wheel cleaner

I want to keep the 16's on my S2K clean, but i have no idea what to use in terms of wheel and tire cleaner. My friends (all of whom own BMW's) use generic wheel cleaner, but i want to find the best of the best for my S2K. Any suggestions?

Good question. Mother's wheel paste ? Any body else use this stuff? When I traded in my 98 Prelude for my 02 S2k the stock wheels looked almost new (except a few minor dings and scratches) . I used the Mother's on almost very wash. Haven't tried on the new car but going to Pep boys this afternoon to get the full setup for wash/wax/detail.

How about tire dressing? Some of the off-the-shelf stuff really is rough on the sidewalls. Found out the hard way on 2000 Civic w/Yoko sports. Any advice?

I must say that I've found P21S gel wheel cleaner to be pretty good. Porsche use it in their Tequipment alloy cleaner kit so I'm guessing its up there with the best. I've previously used Zymol's alloy cleaner but P21S is streets ahead IMO.

A lot of the UK guys use Wonder Wheels but I understand it to have quite a high acid content which isn't something I'm too keen on!

Be careful with a lot of the "generic" wheel cleaners, they can be very acidic. BTW your wheels are clear coated.

I use Griots Garage, it is approved by BBS for clearcoated wheels.

I have not tried it, but I have heard very good things about PS21 wheel cleaner.

I have also found that the use of a good synthetic, like Zaino, Blackfire, or Klasse - on the wheels makes most of the dirt just rinse off.
