windshield frame tape

Default windshield frame tape

i always thought it was just black paint on the windshield framework, but i was told that some people have removed it. if you open the door and look at the bottom you can see that it is a tape. the body color is then underneath this tape.

i was just wondering if anyone has removed the tape and if they have regretted doing so.

Took mine off. Was a small area that had to be rubbed out as it looked like it had been wet sanded. Glad I did it.

I had one spot after removing it that was a little rough, I used Z-PC to clean it up recently, and it looks perfect.

Glad I removed mine, I run my hardtop year-round so it really finishes off the look of the car.

I removed mine right after I got the car. Hardtop looks like crap with the tape on there. Or at least I thought mine did. I had one small spot in the paint also, but some rubbing compound took care of it.
